Miami Film Festival’s 13th GEMS program begins Thursday, October 29, and runs through November 5. Organizers describe the 50-title selection as the largest edition of the fall event to date.

The opening film is The Debut, written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg and starring Julianne Moore. Club Kid, written and directed by Jordan Firstman, is scheduled to close the program, while six centerpiece selections sit between the two dates.

The announced events also include honors for John Turturro, Kyle MacLachlan, filmmakers Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch creator John Cameron Mitchell. Guests and schedules can change, so attendees should verify the current program before making plans.
